Tesamorelin is indicated for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected adult patients with lipodystrophy. It is a stabilised analogue of the full 44-amino-acid endogenous GHRH, delivering the complete hypothalamic signal unlike the truncated 29-amino-acid variant present in CJC-1295. Studies have shown that it substantially reduces visceral fat, raises IGF-1 levels, and improves overall body composition.
